Honeymoons for Birdwatchers

October 2nd, 2008

Planning a honeymoon is one of the most fun parts of the wedding. It is a chance to do your favorite things together as a couple, or to explore new places and activities together. For a unique honeymoon idea, why not consider a birdwatching expedition?

There are magnificent places to birdwatch around the country and around the world. Internationally, some of the best sites are found in China and the United Kingdom. You can choose your location based on the part of the world that you most want to visit, or a particular type of bird that most interests you.

Domestic birdwatchers may want to plan a trip based on one of the Audubon Society’s birding trails. These paths are found in more than half of the states, and are a terrific way to combine seeing the countryside with top-notch birdwatching. Special maps provide you with information about the best places to look for birds, as well as details on local attraction, hotels, restaurants, and more.

After an afternoon of enjoying nature together, a perfect ending would be a soak in a bubble bath followed by a tasty dinner. Wear a pretty dress and your wedding jewelry to make the evening feel elegant and romantic. (Or you can wear just your wedding jewelry if you really want to spice things up!)

More and more couples are looking for unique and interesting things that they can do together on their honeymoon. Why not forgo the typical beach vacation in favor of something a little different? If you love nature and bring outdoors, you might find that birdwatching would be perfect for your special trip.
